MONOCHROME

Colorado. High in the Colorado Rockies groves and patches of the legendary Bristlecone pines can be found just at the edge of timberline. This venerable old specimen may be a thousand years old: it's difficult to say without performing a damaging bore to count the growth rings. This one, from Mt. Goliath, is rooted at more than 11,600 feet elevation. Rendering the image as a monochrome reduces the content to lines, textures, light-dark, and shapes. This one is from my Box Mount Series, prepared without matting, glass or frame, in a modern presentation that works in many settings. Overall width available up to 34-inches, but smaller sizes are available. Click the preview image for a full-screen view. nd
