THREE BOLES
Colorado. There are a number of places around the state that show a wider range of autumn aspen leaf colors than people expect. Here, we're looking at three bare aspen trunks (boles) that have their leaves out of the frame, higher. The smaller trees providing the color in this scene are much younger, having filled in an old clear-cut power easement. You can see larger, older trees in the background. The stark white forms in the foreground make a nice graphic. Prints nicely to 45 inches on the long dimension. Click the half-page preview for a larger view.
